My groin muscles hurt while performing dead lifts?
I'm starting to work dead lifts into my weight training regiment, having not done that lift in years. I'm starting real light, and I"m pretty sure I"m using correct form, but during the lift my groin muscles feel like they are going to pull. Is that normal?
Yeah, something's wrong.
Weight lifting should never hurt. A little strain is okay, but you have to be able to control the weight, with perfect form. A little soreness for the next few days is all you should feel. Anything more means that you need to do some exercises to strengthen the support muscles first, before you try the dead lift.
It could be that you are just trying too much weight. It needs to be a weight you can control easily, and pyramid from there.
